THE BALANCED LEARNING TEAM
Founder and Curriculum Author
Jennie Young, RYT200, RCYT, is founder of BalancED Learning and the author of the BalancED Learning curriculum. She spent twenty-four years in the Missouri Public School System including sixteen years as an elementary teacher. Jennie holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and completed a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction driven by her strong belief in the importance of relevant and engaging lessons in the classroom. She started teaching yoga in 2012 and decided to leave her teaching career in 2016 to further her study of yoga. It was during Jennie’s yoga teacher training that she realized the full potential of yoga and how she could combine her two passions. Jennie had witnessed first-hand the struggles with focus, behavior, and the emotional regulation of students in the classroom and was inspired to write a curriculum that could help both teachers and students. Jennie has voluntarily taught the curriculum in a classroom setting and collaborated with elementary teachers to develop a sound BalancED Learning Program.
Co-Founder and BalancED Learning Professional
Kasey Peyton, RYT200, has been teaching yoga to adults and children since 2013. She attained her 200 hour level yoga teacher certification in 2014. After volunteering in her daughters' schools, Kasey immediately saw the need for yoga-based instruction in the classroom. She is a co-founder of the BalancED Learning program and a co-author of the Professional Development. Kasey is currently acting as a BalancED Learning Professional and is thrilled to bring these tools and techniques into the schools.
